Melchior's Christmas Wish

On Christmas Eve, Catherine has bought two bus tickets home to her family. Luke tells her it is too soon, and she goes alone, smiling so he will not see what it cost her.

As they hug goodbye, their dog Melchior quietly drags the sack of presents behind the sofa.

Luke spends the rest of the day racing across the state to bring them to her: he loses his phone, misses her bus by ten minutes, runs out of fuel, and meets a chain of strangers who all know exactly where her family lives and are all wrong.

Waiting at her mother's house is Marcus, her charming first love, who quietly makes sure Luke never arrives. By nightfall Luke is coming down a mountain on a borrowed sled in a blizzard, and Catherine has almost stopped waiting.

A warm, funny, family-safe Christmas romance with a dog at the centre of the story.
