Acceptable Use Policy

HeyRuby.tv is a platform for mainstream movie and TV entertainment, made for adults 18 and older. This policy explains what belongs on the platform, what does not, and what happens when the line is crossed. It is incorporated into our Terms of Service, and it applies to everyone: viewers, creators, and anyone who submits or publishes content through the Service.

Effective Date: August 1, 2026 | Last Updated: July 29, 2026

The standard: mainstream entertainment for adults

Think of HeyRuby.tv like a streaming service or a movie theater, not an anything-goes video host. Mature storytelling is welcome. Romance, crime, violence, horror, betrayal, revenge, and intense drama are the lifeblood of great microdramas, and we want them here. As a rule of thumb, if a story would be at home on a mainstream streaming service with a TV-MA or R rating, it is within the line. If it would only exist on an adult site, it is over the line.

All users must be 18 or older. This is an adult audience, which is why mature themes are allowed. It is not a license for explicit material.

Strictly prohibited

The following content and conduct are banned on HeyRuby.tv. No exceptions, no matter how the content was made, including AI-generated content:

  • Pornography or sexually explicit content. Explicit sexual acts, sexual nudity, and content whose primary purpose is sexual arousal. Suggestive scenes within a story can be fine; explicit content is not.
  • Any sexual content involving minors. Zero tolerance. This includes real minors, AI-generated depictions, fictional characters presented as minors, and characters whose apparent age is under 18, regardless of any claimed character age. Violations are reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and law enforcement.
  • Non-consensual real-person likenesses and deepfakes. Using a real person's face, voice, or likeness, including through AI, without documented consent. This covers celebrities, private people, and anyone else. Creators must be able to produce consent documentation on request.
  • Hate speech, harassment, and violent extremism. Content that attacks or dehumanizes people based on protected characteristics, targeted harassment, or content that glorifies or promotes terrorist or violent extremist acts or organizations. Villains and bigoted characters can exist inside a story; content whose point is to promote hate cannot.
  • Illegal content and promotion of illegal acts. Content that is illegal where we operate, or that provides instructions for or promotes serious illegal activity, such as making weapons or drugs, human trafficking, or fraud.
  • Deceptive synthetic media and impersonation. Synthetic or manipulated media presented as real to deceive viewers, fake endorsements, and impersonation of real people, brands, or organizations. Clearly fictional stories are fine; deception is not.
  • Spam, engagement fraud, and artificial monetization activity. Fake views, bot traffic, artificial Ticket unlocks or tips, self-dealing rings, incentivized engagement schemes, and any scheme designed to manipulate creator payouts or platform metrics.
  • Malware and security abuse. Uploading malicious code, probing or attacking our infrastructure, scraping, stream ripping, or circumventing access controls. See Section 8 of the Terms of Service for the full list of prohibited technical conduct.

Why these rules exist

These are not arbitrary lines. HeyRuby.tv operates inside an ecosystem of app stores (such as Google Play and the Apple App Store), payment processors (such as Stripe), and cloud and content-delivery providers (such as Google Cloud), each with its own content policies. A single category of prohibited content on the platform can put our app listings, our payment processing, and our hosting at risk. That means one creator's violation can jeopardize every creator's ability to publish and get paid. We enforce these rules firmly because the whole platform, and everyone earning on it, depends on them.

Enforcement

We use human review and automated systems to enforce this policy. Depending on the severity and history involved, enforcement may include one or more of the following, in escalating order:

  • Removal or restriction of the content.
  • Demonetization of the content or the account, including withholding or reversing related payouts.
  • Temporary suspension of the account.
  • Permanent termination of the account and associated accounts.
  • Referral to law enforcement, and preservation of evidence, where content or conduct may violate the law.

Zero-tolerance categories, such as sexual content involving minors, result in immediate termination and reporting on the first violation. For other categories we consider context, severity, and intent, and we aim to warn before we terminate where that is appropriate.

Appeals and contact

If your content or account was actioned and you believe we got it wrong, you can appeal by emailing contact@heyruby.tv with your account email, the content at issue, and a short explanation. A human will review every appeal. To report content you believe violates this policy, use the report tools in the Service or email the same address. For copyright complaints, use our DMCA and Copyright Policy.
