A Drop Too Far

Set against the gold-rush tension of early 20th-century Johannesburg and Krugersdorp, A Drop Too Far traces the chilling true-crime descent of Daisy de Melker, a seemingly respectable nurse whose domestic life masked a calculated addiction to lethal chemistry.

Across six high-velocity vertical episodes, the series chronicles her methodical elimination of those closest to her—beginning with the mysterious illnesses of her first husbands, William Spillsbury and Jim Rhodes, and culminating in the brazen use of strychnine against her third husband, Sydney de Melker.

As medical suspicions mount, the narrative explodes into a high-stakes forensic investigation featuring the dramatic exhumation of past bodies, culminating in a sensational courtroom trial and her ultimate appointment with the gallows as South Africa's most notorious poisoner.
